As the company camped for the night, Mathias couldn't help but to notice his friend's gaze drifting towards the shoreline during that evening. They had reached the sea earlier, and eventually, after finishing his work for the night, he found Leon standing at the shore watching the sun set. He made his way over and watched for a while, then turned to his friend.

"Tell me something, Leon," he said. "Why have you been staring at the sea evening, anyway?"

The younger man turned to look at him and shrugged. "I'm not sure. Although, it's the first time I've seen it. It's... big. Makes me wish we weren't here because of war, though. It could be relaxing to watch it, but I can't help but to look at it and think what we're going to be facing."

Mathias placed his hand on the blond's shoulder and smiled. "Are you homesick?"

"A little," Leon admitted. "And you aren't? You have a lot more reason to be. Seeing I have no family left, I really don't have a reason to miss home. You're the only one I've really got anyway. It should be fine for me as long as you're here, Mathias."

The older man lowered his face a little. "If you put it that way. I will, however, choose to find myself content with the fact that you're here with me, and after this is over we'll return home, together. That's enough for me." He watched the sea for a moment, then smiled. "Perhaps we could come here sometime later when this is over. Just to relax."

"Perhaps," Leon said, looking over the sea one more time before turning to return to the camp. When Mathias put it that way, it was enough for him for now.
