AccessoriesBy Lady Harken"Oh look. How pretty," Maya called to the rest of their yukata-clad group consisting of Kazuki, Soushi, Kenji, Sakura and Canon. They were checking out the stalls set up for the summer festival, and Maya stopped by one of them to take a better look. "Handmade hair accessories," she continued as she picked up a hairpin to try it on. "How does it look?" She inquired. "Or maybe I should try that red one..." The rest of the crew stopped to take a look; or most of them did, as Soushi just stood on the side appearing uninterested. Sakura meanwhile picked up a decorated hair clip as well. "Very pretty indeed. Think this would look good on me?" She asked, holding the thing up to her hair. Kazuki, Maya and Canon all admired it; Kenji meanwhile tilted his head. "Nah, not your style at all, too delicate," he joked, and Sakura shot a glare at him then kicked him in the shin. "Geez. Just a joke! Violent," he groaned. "It looks fine! Quit that already." Maya and Canon chuckled a bit, and Kenji rolled his eyes. "Ah, heh... Something like this would totally look great on you, though, Canon," Kenji said, trying to change the subject. He picked up one of the combs set on the table to study it, then held it out for the girls to see. Maya took it from him and turned to Canon. "Maybe I should grow out my hair so I could wear something like this," she pondered. "Kenji's got the right idea though, this would look good." Canon appeared somehow hesitant, but Maya knew the exact medicine for that issue. "Right? Wouldn't it, Kazuki?" She managed to catch Kazuki by surprise, as he was busy admiring the collection of the combs on the table. "Huh? I guess?" Maya gave him a bit of a look, and he managed a little smile. "Oh, yeah, it would," he slowly caught on. "Well, you don't really know unless you try it?" "Well, I... guess I could try," Canon mumbled, still appearing skeptical, but she made no move to resist as Maya grinned victoriously and took a step closer to put it in Canon's hair. "That's not how you do it," Soushi from the side suddenly criticized. "But I suppose someone with short hair wouldn't really know. Here, let me show you." He moved in to help Maya, and a few minutes later they had the comb perfectly set in Canon's hair. Maya stepped back to examine the result; Soushi stood there, looking rather pleased, and Canon, who really did look great, seemed a bit reluctant about being the center of the attention. Sakura nodded approvingly. "Looks amazing. Maybe Kenji is actually right sometimes." Kenji just grinned at that, but he didn't dare to say anything. "He was. I think it worked out great," Kazuki agreed. "And you know what," he said, picking up another comb. "This one would look good on you, Soushi." As usual, Soushi was not impressed. "Don't be ridiculous," he stated. "Hair accessories like that look better on girls, anyway, and while men in Japan historically had long hair and wore fancy hairstyles, that's not exactly..." His protest speech got cut short by Kazuki moving behind him and taking a hold of his hair. "Just wait a minute, Kazuki, what do you think you're doing?" "Trying it on," Kazuki replied as he gathered Soushi's hair into a neat bun and secured it with the comb. "I knew it, it's perfect." He stepped back with a satisfied smile on his face - right as Soushi, who was getting rather red on his face, turned to face him. "You look beautiful like that," Kazuki added. Soushi stood there looking annoyed but embarrassed for a moment. He said nothing though then just stormed off to the next stall to look at whatever items they had for sale. The crew hung out trying out the games and checking the stalls for a bit longer before it was time for the fireworks, and they gathered beside the shoreline to watch. That silly but proud smile hadn't left Kazuki's face since; Soushi meanwhile had managed to get back to his usual serious self, even if there was that hint of something that made him appear a little flustered. Kenji glanced at the rest of the crew then shifted a bit closer to the girls. "You think Soushi's still miffed about that comb Kazuki got him stuck with?" "Probably," Sakura said, but a smirk rose to her lips. "He hasn't taken it off, though."
