TranquilityBy Lady HarkenThe alarm he had set hadn't gone off yet, but Soushi found himself awake and couldn't fall back to sleep. The difference with his room and Kazuki's was that there was natural light here, and as the sun rose, the light from outside had woken him up. He was the one who would actually have to get up in the morning to head off to Alvis for his research work; Kazuki didn't have to get up until later, although he tended to get up to make Soushi breakfast if he stayed over. As much as Soushi liked that, he sometimes felt a little guilty, and he considered sneaking out while Kazuki still slept. He reached for the alarm clock and turned it off, then smiled as he looked to his side. Kazuki was indeed still fast asleep, curled up on his side and breathing calmly, and Soushi got up and sat on the futon. It wasn't time to get up yet, and he discarded his earlier idea of leaving. He could stay here a little longer. In the faint morning light, Kazuki looked absolutely adorable, with his hair scattered over the pillow. It was summer and the nights were warm, and Kazuki had managed to kick the light sheet he was using as a cover off. He was also shirtless, Soushi noted as he reached to softly run his fingertips over Kazuki's bare shoulder. That definitely was his fault, he quietly admitted, being the one who had removed Kazuki's shirt last night. What did Kazuki dream of, he idly wondered. Considering how peaceful he looked, it had to be a nice dream, and Kazuki if anyone deserved all the good dreams in the world. Kazuki always slept peacefully next to him, Soushi was sure of it; he himself slept well if Kazuki was there. It had been like that ever since they had been kids, he remembered, back when they had been little and had just both fallen asleep on Kazuki's futon, too exhausted from playing all day. This room held so many memories of the old days, and he found himself unable to stop smiling. "Hey," Kazuki said, and Soushi blinked, realizing Kazuki's eyes were open and he was looking up at him. "Is it time to get up yet?" "Good morning," Soushi said. "No, not yet. You could still sleep a little longer," he added, raising his hand to Kazuki's pillow and drawing his fingers across a few loose strands of hair. "Did you have a pleasant dream?" Kazuki yawned and turned to lie on his back. "Mmm. I don't remember the details, but I think it was something about swimming. It was warm and sunny and... I think you were there." He looked at Soushi and smiled. "It must've been a good dream... But why are you looking at me like that?" "Because I also had a good dream," Soushi replied then leaned in to place a soft kiss on Kazuki's lips. "But I'm fairly sure my dream hasn't ended yet. Not while you're here." Kazuki raised his hands to Soushi's hair at that point and held him down, and Soushi went for a deeper kiss. They didn't have to get up just yet, did they?
