Rai's BirthdayBy Lady HarkenIt was the worst timing ever to be doing it, but with all his partner was willing to do tonight, Rai needed to know. "Ryusei?" He asked, raising his head from the pillow and looking at the younger man. "Why exactly are you doing all this?" "Mmm?" Ryusei asked then paused what he had been doing - which indeed was, giving Rai a blow job, which really made the timing bad. He raised his head and looked back at his partner. "Huh, what's with you all of a sudden? Oh... Don't you like this?" "No, it's not that," Rai quickly replied. "It feels great and I really wouldn't want you to stop, but I need to know. First of all, you wanted to eat out and even offered to pay. Then we get back and you suggested this, and you have to admit you rarely do the first move. Now you're taking it slow and attempting to make sure I'm feeling as good as possible... Which, I might add," he added when noting that Ryusei looked like he wanted to ask something or make excuses. "Is working well and I'm quite enjoying what you're doing. But still, all this? What's going on?" Ryusei stared at the blond for a moment. "I just, uh." To Rai's surprise, the younger man looked embarrassed for some reason. "All this time in the SRX team, and I never really figured what you'd like for a gift or anything. You're difficult like that. So I thought this would..." The older man blinked then tilted his head, confused. "Ryusei. Why would you need to buy me a gift?" "Well," Ryusei answered, idly stroking the older man's thigh while talking. "Aya mentioned a few days ago that it's your birthday today, and I checked it. It's on your personnel file and..." Ryusei went quiet and stared at Rai for a moment passed, then grinned. "Wait, you didn't," he said, chuckling. "You totally forgot it's your own birthday didn't you? Oh man..." There rarely were moments when Rai would have found himself without words, but right now was one. "I," he muttered. "Of course I didn't!" He snapped at the younger man, frowning. "Of course I knew, but you should know me better and know I don't like making a number out of things like this." The excuse was convincing enough, but Ryusei still looked way too amused. Rai sighed, giving up. "Are you working on this gift of yours of not?" Ryusei grinned and set back to work. Rai lay back down and closed his eyes, defeated. He was never going to live this one down. It could have been worse, of course, and at least he had no complaints about the gift. Ryusei seldom showed such creativity when it came to these things, and Rai figured he could just enjoy himself to the fullest. For the reason why, though, he made a mental note to outdo Ryusei on the younger man's birthday later in the summer.
