Suggestion

By Lady Harken

McDohl stared at the figure of a younger man standing by his door and blinked. He didn't know Luc too well in the first place, and the mage didn't hide the fact that he hadn't joined the army exactly voluntarily, either. There he was in any case, staring at him and... offering his condolences for the death of McDohl's father's or what, he didn't know, half of what the young mage had offered escaped him.

"I'm also sure you don't lack company should you want someone else here tonight," Luc continued what he had been saying before. "Although they were talking that you didn't sleep at all last night," he added, shooting a glance at the door. "Well. Do you want me to stay or not?"

It was an odd offer considering who it was coming from, although Luc was correct. McDohl hadn't managed to sleep properly for the last week, and it was taking a toll on his well-being. Cleo had already noticed and kept telling him to rest, but it didn't matter how many times he was told to get more rest. It was hard to sleep after what had happened, and the nightmares didn't make it any easier.

McDohl looked over at the young magician and nodded, surprising himself by doing so. There was nothing to lose, he then decided to convince himself why he did this. He couldn't sleep alone anyway, and there was always the small possibility that Luc staying over actually made a difference.

What he couldn't figure out was why he suddenly chose to agree to Luc's suggestion. Why did he feel that the young mage was fine, when there were people he was more familiar with, and besides, Cleo and Pahn had offered to stay more than once. It could have been that they were too close, he decided. It could be easier to just let someone he had no relation to stay with him. There were no expectations, and he wasn't exactly thinking Luc was here to offer comfort the same way those close to him would have done. The young mage was too selfish for something like that, and it was likely his reasons for this were selfish as well. It didn't matter though.

Luc closed the door and stepped closer in the dark room, and there was a rustling sound as the boy got rid of his clothes. McDohl lay back down and closed his eyes, suddenly not sure what was going to happen. He made room for the other boy, and only a moment later Luc crawled in next to him. The nakedness of the boy didn't bother McDohl, and neither did the fact that Luc pressed himself close to the young army leader and wrapped his arms around him.

It did make him to freeze, however, when the younger boy ran his hands down his body. He blinked and opened his mouth to ask, but found himself unable to find any words when Luc kissed his neck. The caresses felt good, and although he still wasn't sure what was going on - outside of course Luc's original offer, half of which he had not been really listening to, being this. He didn't find the will to object, though. With all he had gone through, giving up and letting someone do this didn't seem that bad an idea.

Why Luc, that McDohl couldn't figure out at all. Whatever the reasons, it somehow didn't matter as he gave himself to the younger boy's embrace.

END.
