Simple Tests

By Elmina

There was a knock on the door, and Augst put down the papers he had been reading. "Come in."

The door opened, and Kresnik stepped in. "I was told that you wanted to see me, sir," he stated, stopping in the middle of the room. "Something related to... the medicine I use, I believe?"

"Ah, that." Augst stood up and gave the other man a slight smile. He had been reading some Brionac files the other day, and had come across a couple of things that bothered him when it came to Kresnik's abilities - and the drug he was taking to be able to use said abilities. He had shared his concern with Lambda, who had suggested he would take a look at Kresnik himself.

"Sir Lambda said there's something bothering you about that," Kresnik said, more or less to make sure the other man knew why he was here. He wasn't exactly sure of the reason himself, though. "Something you used to work with back when you were a scientist?"

Augst nodded. "Indeed. I have a file about it, if you'd like to see for yourself." He searched for something from one of the desk drawers for a moment, and then walked over to the other man and handed the papers over to him. "I could explain, but it would probably be too long and complicated. Shortly put, though, this can be taken care of by a couple of simple tests, and I can perform those myself."

"Uh huh," Kresnik mumbled, reading the file he had received. He glanced through the papers and then handed them back to the older man. "I don't see a problem with that."

"Shall we, then?" Augst asked, nodded at the bed. "I have everything I need right here. Shouldn't take more than half an hour or so. I just need you to undress, and..."

"Of course." Kresnik nodded and started taking his clothes off.

In his mind, there was some part of him that suddenly questioned why he had to do this for a couple of simple tests, but surely Augst knew what he was doing. Of course he did.

Right?
